Words, words, words, and more words,
in sentences, paragraphs, stanzas,
stories long and short,
poems, haiku, essays,
plays, novels, and odes,
fill my brain, tickle my fancy –
and tease me.
Oh, noggin of mine,
it’s time.
Time to organize those words,
authors’ thoughts and names,
themes and generations.
Whose idea? Mine?
Sort through the nada, the existentialism,
diaspora and dystopia,
the thump of the Beats and the lost souls of a generation.
Metaphysical and mystical,
magic or not?
Feminisms, goddesses, patriarchy and chauvinism,
fill my brain, tickle my fancy –
and tease me.
This delicious buffet has too many choices.
Oh, noggin of mine.
It’s time to study.
